CeraVe was founded in 2005 by dermatologists with the goal of developing skincare that restores and maintains the skin's natural protective barrier. The brand was acquired by L'Oreal in 2017. It is best known for the inclusion of three essential ceramides (NP, AP, EOP) alongside cholesterol and hyaluronic acid in a patented MultiVesicular Emulsion (MVE) delivery system. CeraVe products are fragrance-free, non-comedogenic, and dermatologist-recommended globally. They are sold in India primarily through Nykaa and Amazon.
