The SLES-free, minimal-ingredient formula is well-suited to Indian consumers with sensitive, reactive, or eczema-prone skin, which is a significant demographic across all Fitzpatrick skin types. Hard water performance is notably better than SLES-based cleansers: Cocamidopropyl Betaine is an amphoteric surfactant and does not form soap scum with calcium ions the way SLES does, making it more suitable for hard water cities such as Delhi and Bengaluru. The single-surfactant formula may require double-cleansing to remove oil-based sunscreens, which are common in the Indian SPF 30 to 50 market.
This is a web evidence review, not a Clean Sheet certification. We checked the ingredient list, publicly available test reports, marketing claims, and formula logic using only public information available at the time of review.

What was checked
Each claim checked against publicly available evidence: published test reports, the ingredient list, and regulatory data.
The 12-ingredient INCI confirms no Parfum, Fragrance, or scent-use essential oils are present.
No synthetic colourant ingredients are present in the published 12-ingredient INCI.
The ingredient list confirms no saponified soap ingredients (sodium/potassium cocoate, sodium palmate, etc.) are present; Cocamidopropyl Betaine is a synthetic detergent, not a soap.
The claim appears on packaging, but no test report, laboratory name, method, or outcome data has been made publicly visible.
The surfactant profile and absence of fragrance, parabens, and SLES are consistent with sensitive skin use, but no HRIPT or dermatological test report has been published to formally substantiate the hypoallergenic or gentle-skin claim.

Ingredient SafetyStrong26/30Clean allergen profile with a fragrance free formula.
No SLES, no SLS, and no PEG compounds: this is the cleanest surfactant profile in the Simple cleanser range. Cocamidopropyl Betaine is the sole surfactant, a mild amphoteric compound with a low sensitisation profile. The rare cases of sensitivity associated with it are typically linked to manufacturing impurities that reputable producers actively control. Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate (IPBC) is a co-preservative. The EU permits a maximum of 0.02% IPBC in rinse-off cosmetics; regulators have flagged sensitisation potential for IPBC in leave-on use and at higher concentrations, but at the permitted level in a rinse-off wash with brief skin contact, regulatory risk is low. Propylene Glycol is a known penetration enhancer, but brief rinse-off contact time substantially reduces that concern. No parabens, no synthetic fragrance, no artificial colour.
Formula LogicStrong20/25A single amphoteric surfactant makes this an exceptionally gentle cleanser, well suited to everyday use on sensitive skin.
A single amphoteric surfactant makes this an exceptionally gentle cleanser, well suited to everyday use on sensitive skin. The limitation is that one mild surfactant may not fully remove heavy makeup, waterproof formulas, or oil-based SPF products, so double-cleansing with an oil-based first cleanser is recommended for users wearing SPF 30 or higher. Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, and Glycerin provide post-cleanse conditioning and hydration. Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose gives the gel texture but has no therapeutic skin function. At only 12 ingredients, all identifiable, this is one of the most honest and minimal formulas in the Simple range. Citric Acid maintains a mildly acidic pH compatible with the skin's natural range.
Claims EvidenceGood18/25Twelve ingredients, every one identifiable, with no proprietary blend names: this is genuinely transparent formulation.
Twelve ingredients, every one identifiable, with no proprietary blend names: this is genuinely transparent formulation. No fragrance, no artificial colour: verified from the ingredient list. Paraben-free verified. PETA certified. 'Soap-free' is verifiable from the ingredient list. IPBC is disclosed in the ingredient list. 'Dermatologically tested' is stated without a published citation.
Test TransparencyGrade CGood9/15The full 12-ingredient INCI is published on the brand website.
The full 12-ingredient INCI is published on the brand website. The 'dermatologically tested' claim is mentioned on packaging, but no test report, laboratory name, method, or outcome data is publicly accessible. No preservative efficacy test result is publicly available. Grade C reflects that the brand's ingredient transparency is strong, but test documentation supporting its performance and safety claims is not public.
Consumer ClarityStrong4/5Use instructions for daily cleansing are clear.
Use instructions for daily cleansing are clear. Suitability for sensitive and oily skin types is communicated. No guidance is provided about double-cleansing when wearing SPF or makeup, which is practically relevant since a single mild surfactant may not fully remove oil-based sunscreens.

What would improve this score
Public evidence the brand could provide to close verification gaps
- ○A published dermatological test report with lab name, method, sample size, and outcome would substantiate the 'dermatologically tested' claim.
- ○An HRIPT or patch test result would support the 'kind to skin for sensitive skin' positioning.
- ○No preservative efficacy test result is publicly accessible for this formula.
- ○Guidance on double-cleansing when wearing oil-based SPF would improve consumer clarity for a single-surfactant cleanser.
