A gel-texture barrier repair moisturiser formulated with 5 ceramide types (Ceramide 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 II) alongside a ceramide analog and Avocado Oil for oily, combination, and acne-prone skin needing barrier support without heaviness. The 5-ceramide system replicates the complete lipid matrix of the skin's natural barrier. Key concern: Dimethicone is the second ingredient after water, making this a silicone-dominant gel rather than a water-light formula - a legitimate formulation choice for barrier occlusion but worth noting for silicone-averse users. Formula also contains fragrance (IFRA Certified Allergen-Free) and synthetic azo dye CI 19140 (Tartrazine) - it is not fragrance-free as the product's 'gentle' positioning implies. Not recommended for fragrance-sensitive skin.

Ingredient SafetyStrong38/50Ceramides 1-4 and 6 II are synthetic skin-identical lipids - vegan and among the safest cosmetic ingredients.
Ceramides 1-4 and 6 II are synthetic skin-identical lipids - vegan and among the safest cosmetic ingredients. Niacinamide is exceptionally well-tolerated. No parabens, no SLES, no ethanol. However, the formula contains fragrance (IFRA Certified Allergen-Free Fragrance) in a leave-on product - IFRA certification reduces but does not eliminate sensitisation risk. CI 19140 (Tartrazine, azo dye) is associated with hypersensitivity reactions in some individuals. Dimethicone at position 2 creates a significant silicone loading that may not suit silicone-sensitive or congestion-prone skin. Phenoxyethanol within permitted limits.

The 5-ceramide system (Ceramides 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 II using numeric INCI nomenclature) is a clinically informed formulation choice that mimics the natural lipid matrix more completely than single-ceramide products. A ceramide analog (Cetyl-PG Hydroxyethyl Palmitamide) supplements the ceramide complex. Avocado Oil contributes oleic acid and antioxidants. Niacinamide adds sebum regulation and barrier strengthening. Key formulation note: Dimethicone is at INCI position 2 - this is a silicone-heavy gel, not a water-light formula. Legitimate for occlusion and barrier protection, but the 'gel' descriptor may set expectations of a lighter texture. Active concentrations not disclosed.
Claims EvidenceGood13/20Material transparency gap: the product is not fragrance-free but is positioned as suitable for barrier-compromised skin without fragrance disclosure.
Material transparency gap: the product is not fragrance-free but is positioned as suitable for barrier-compromised skin without fragrance disclosure. Fragrance in a barrier repair product for potentially reactive skin is a formulation concern worth disclosing. All five ceramide types are individually named in the INCI list (good transparency). No active concentrations disclosed. Full ingredient list on aqualogica.in. HUL quality systems provide background confidence.
Ethics & SustainabilityFair5/10Cruelty-free claim.
Cruelty-free claim. Vegan - all ceramides are synthetically produced. However, formula uses synthetic dyes (CI 19140, CI 42090) which serve only aesthetic purposes and add hypersensitivity risk with no skin benefit - an avoidable addition for a barrier repair product. HUL brand with Unilever Compass sustainability commitments. Packaging widely recyclable. Disodium EDTA used as chelating agent.

Skin barrier depletion in India is driven by UV exposure, hard water, frequent cleansing, and over-exfoliation. The 5-ceramide system directly replenishes what is lost. The gel format avoids the heaviness that would make a ceramide cream impractical for India's oily-skin-dominant population. However, the fragrance presence and Tartrazine (CI 19140) are notable - Tartrazine sensitivity is reported in South Asian populations, and fragrance in a barrier repair product marketed for reactive skin is a meaningful concern. Not suitable for fragrance-sensitive or reactive skin. Dimethicone-dominant gel may feel film-forming in high humidity.
